1.New leadership:
All Parish groups were reminded to adhere to the 4 year tenure prescribed by the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria. Exco of each group is to notify the Laity Council date of their election and handover, but this should be done within 2 months from now.
2. VISITATION
All Parish societies were intimated to create a day for visitation & reaching out to their members in need of encouragement.
3. SPIRITUAL PARTICIPATION OF PARISHIONERS
Leaders to intimate their members about making out time to attend weekday masses , station of the cross and other Parish programs to encourage spiritual growth.
4. CATCH THEM YOUNG
Based on the importance of grooming the children in the Catholic faith, the Parish priest directed that all children ( including communicants) should return to catechism classes for earnest preparation of Confirmation.
5. CHILDREN CLASS DURING MASS
Parents are enjoined to desist from quarreling with Animators/ Volunteers who cater for their children and provide moral direction. Children must be trained to respect their superiors or else they grow up to be problematic adults.
6. SECURITY
All parishioners were appealed to respect and co-operate with the Security men and volunteers controlling the traffic.
6. DOCUMENTATION & FILING
All Pious groups, organizations and communities are to submit the names of their EXCO Members & contact phone numbers to the parish office. This is for the documentation and opening of files for each group.
7. BANK ACCOUNTS FOR ALL PARISH GROUP
All societies, communities and organizations are encouraged to open official bank accounts within the next 2 months and all payments collected expected to be lodged into the account.
8. PARISH FEAST DAY & CELEBRATION OF FR. FRANCIS 20 YEARS PRIESTLY ANNIVERSARY WILL HOLD ON 6TH AUGUST, 2023 AT THE PARISH
9. PARISH MONTHLY PRAYERS /ACTIVITIES TO SUSTAINED:
Wonders of worship- Last Friday of the month;
Hour with Mary- 1st Wednesday of the month to begin on 5th July 2023;
Benediction every Sunday at 6pm
10. Other Communique;
Basic Christian Community will be opened and these centres will be the Block Rosary Centres.
Kneeling to receive Holy Communion will commence this Sunday except those with knee ache. Also children will no longer receive Holy Communion on their hands.
Let’s respect the Church Wardens while they serve us respectfully.
Every pious societies, organizations and communities should send 2 of their members to the security committee to boost security operations of the Parish.
Parents should ensure that our girl child covers their hair while in the church.
Parish adopted Seminarian, now Rev. Augustine will be ordained a Priest on 1/7/2023, and he will be having his Thanksgiving mass at the Parish on 23/7/2023. We were encouraged to attend the ordination mass at Mina and support in anyway you can.
We encourage you to adhere strictly on these resolutions for the good of the Parish.
